Internet Explorer Connectivity Settings
Internet Explorer 5.x and 6.x allows
you to specify settings to control how you connect to the
Internet on a per connection (LAN and individual dial-up
networking) basis, including proxy usage.
- Launch IE and select Internet Options from the Tools
menu. Click the Connections tab.
- If you do not use a modem to dial other Internet
connections from your computer, Dial Up
Networking connections will be greyed out.
- Verify that Never dial a connection is
selected.
- If you use a dial-up connection infrequently, click to select Never
dial a connection. If you travel frequently with this computer,
you can select Dial whenever a network connection is not present.

- Verify that your LAN settings and proxy
information is correct by clicking on the "LAN Settings" button at the bottom.

Make sure that you do not have anything checked in this window (labeled "Local Area Network (LAN) Settings").
Road Runner does not make use of a proxy server, so make sure that it is not checked.
Click the OK button to save your changes.
Click the OK button again to exit Internet Options
